1. Introductions
AE4000 consists of an acoustic coupler, RST condenser pressure field microphone and preamplifier and a base plate, of which all parts are made of stainless steel without magnetic material.
AE4000 is a type of Artificial Ear that fulfills the requirements of IEC71. It is used for measurements on the ear cover type headphones and telephone sets, both sealed and unsealed, intended for wideband telephony application (100Hz to 8kHz).
A well-defined leak from the cavity to exterior simulates the average real ear loss telephone handsets which are held either firmly (low leak grade) or loosely (high leak grade) against the human ear.
This design complies with the following ITU-T Rec.P.57, Type 3.2 low-leak and high-leak simplified pinna simulators.

4. Remarks
The following additional equipment is required for necessary measurements

◆ Audio analysis system, which can generate test signal and analysis the recording signal from the DUT.(e.g. RStech TrustSystem acoustic analysis system)

6.Applications
AE4000 can be widely used in the tests on headphones, telephones and telephone receivers. In the actual working process, AE4000 can also constitute HD300 headphone test support with AM3000 artificial mouth, soft pinna and corresponding jig, which can meet the need of the standardized headsets tests.
